My advertising career began when I moved to NYC literally one week after graduating from college to work at Saatchi & Saatchi—executing mainly 360° campaigns. After a few years there, I eventually made the digital move to Tribal DDB. On my downtime, I help out the non-profit organization, Pencils of Promise as their Head of Production, run a secret Haiku blog with a friend and. . .beware, if I catch you napping on the subway train—it’s likely that I’ll start drawing you in my little sketchbook and walk away without you even knowing.

Tribal DDB is a digital advertising agency that works with clients such as: Toyota, McDonald’s, Unilever, The Webby Awards, PepsiCo, and Volkswagon. What’s a typical day like for an Account Executive there?
We have fun everyday by sitting in a big open floor plan. . .you can't hide, buddy. At times, you might catch a paper plane, a cute red stress ball or a piece of delicious candy flying over your head. But the day-to-day work load ranges, depends on the account and projects you're helping to manage. Working on a global account has kept my team on our toes. We have a full pipeline of digital projects that we're anticipating to launch this year--but any given day, we're typically in client and internal status meetings, developing POVs, briefs, estimates for new SOWs and overseeing production of a project.
How did you first become involved with Pencils of Promise? What’s the best way for someone who is interested in helping to get started?
I've always had a strong desire to get involved with either a youth art program or an education-focused non-profit organization, especially since I moved to NYC. Ironically, my friend Mimi, is one of the founding members of Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization founded in 2008 to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. She suggested I consider joining the marketing team as a Producer and since then, it's been great being part of this growing team.
PoP has now grown into an international movement with over 150,000 supporters, who have helped support the building of over 20 new schools between Laos and Nicaragua...so it's been very refreshing to take an opportunity like this and channel marketing and production experiences for a valuable cause!
