Bio:

Katia is a proud West Texan who migrated north to attend Vassar College. After three years working in structured finance and commercial real estate, Katia saw Harvard Business School as an opportunity to leverage her finance fundamentals into a career in entrepreneurship. Her love for all things beauty (bolstered by a college internship at Estee Lauder) and her natural talent for sales and negotiation make her the perfect industry liaison for Birchbox.

What’s a typical day at Birchbox like for you?  Has your role evolved since launch?

Meetings all day, emails all night. My role has evolved in that it is less and less about tomorrow and more about longer term plans.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

President of the US, then a scientist (no idea what kind), then a social scientist (economist).

What products would make up the perfect Birchbox to you that you’d like to receive in the mail?

For beauty- bright nail polish, creamy blush, serum, dry shampoo.
