Brian Borger

"He who mounts a wild elephant goes where the wild elephant goes."

Bio:

S’mores, beer, and chlorine enthusiast, and believer that movies can be so bad they’re good.  Born and raised in NY, I went to Collegiate and studied Economics at Pomona College.  After school, I worked a harvest at Continuum Estate Winery in California and then started interning at gojee in the winter.  I joined the team full time in July and find myself quickly learning the ropes at my dream job.  I love creative ads and marketing campaigns.

You say that gojee is your dream job.  What is your favorite part about working there?

Gojee is an entire company at one table—what better learning experience could you ask for?  I get to see every part of the puzzle come together just by looking up from my computer.  It is an amazing experience working on a product from the planning stages through launch.  The happy bonus is the wealth of cooking tips I’ve picked up from all our bloggers!

If you could be anybody past or present, who would you be?

Jony Ive, Apple’s Senior VP of industrial design.  I was blown away when my dad brought home the Titanium PowerBook back in 2001, and everything his team has put out since then has given me goose bumps.  I’ve always envied a designer’s ability to create something out of nothing, and Ive is the best there is when it comes to creating elegant, functional machines.

What are some of your favorite recipes on gojee?

I’m a huge fan of anything s’mores related and I’ve been happy to find that the blogging world has given them the credit they deserve.  Sophistimom’s Magic S’Mores Bars are my favorite—I made them at a gojee offsite and they were a showstopper.  Combine crunched graham crackers with butter and condensed milk, then top with dark chocolate chips and marshmallows.  Big surprise:  they’re super rich.
