Ready To Change The Experience of Luxury Online? We're a global authority on bespoke goods & luxury lifestyle, with 250 press articles (WSJ, FT, Forbes, Robb Report). We’re seeking a well-rounded and senior technologist who is ready to transform the experience of luxury online by leading our technology process in a hands-on role. You’ll be responsible for the decisions around architecture, technology stack, development methodologies and staffing. You will directly support our front-end engineer, collaborate with our UI/UX Designer to oversee the delivery of our web product. Our designer office in SoHo has a strong culture of creativity and accountability. First thing we built in our office was a bar, with a budget for a silver punch bowl. We think differently and have outside passions like falconry, mixology and rock climbing. We also know that sometimes you just want to be left alone, and that’s OK. We are an early-stage startup, just closed our series A round and have significant revenue. We have a small team, and in this role you would be working directly with the Founder and CEO.

The ideal candidate:

• Significant startup experience, and experience building scaling web applications
• PHP 5 expertise coupled with knowledge of other platforms (we currently use PHP, but you’d determine if we need RoR or other frameworks built into our technology stack)
• MySQL knowledge and comfort in managing e-commerce database development and reporting
• Experience with test-driven development helpful, ability to QA your own work is a necessity
• Comfort in managing releases and determining release schedules is necessary, agile experience would be beneficial
• Amazon Web Services exposure and confidence in managing our web services
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage expectations
• Basic working knowledge of front-end technologies, especially jQuery
• SVN experience is a plus
